Uber expands portfolio with Marlins deal

Major League Baseball franchise the Miami Marlins has signed a partnership deal with ride-sharing company Uber to enhance the fan experience at Marlins Park.

Under the agreement, Uber has further expanded its venue portfolio and will become the preferred ride-sharing partner of the Marlins.

The deal will introduce a designated pick-up and drop off lot, located along NW 5th Street and 14th Avenue, for fans using Uber for all home games and all other events taking place at the 37,000-capacity Marlins Park.

The designated lot is up and running ahead of the homestand matchups between the Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets.

“We are very excited with our new partnership with Uber as we continue to find ways to improve the overall fan experience at Marlins Park,” said Marlins president David Samson.

“The designated lot will provide fans with another transportation option when attending Marlins games, special events, and all the upcoming All-Star Game activities in July.”

Kasra Moshkani, general manager of Uber Florida, said: “With summer kicking off, and millions enjoying America’s favourite pastime in the coming months, Uber is excited to partner with the Miami Marlins.

“At the tap of a button, Marlins fans can now rely on safe and reliable transportation options to and from Marlins Park from anywhere in South Florida.”

The partnership will also include the recognition of UberMILITARY Driver Partners. Riders will be able to nominate service members or veterans providing quality service.

Highly-rated driver partners in the South Florida market will be selected and recognised at Monday Marlins games for the rest of the season. The driver partner will receive four tickets to the game and be showcased during the game.
