NHL’s Sharks toast to new wine partner at SAP Center

North American NHL ice hockey franchise the San Jose Sharks has signed up Miner Family Winery as an exclusive partner for its SAP Center home arena.

Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, Miner Family Winery will serve as a ‘proud partner’ of the team and become the official wine of the new ‘BMW Lounge’ corporate facility (pictured) inside the SAP Center.

Products from the Miner portfolio of wines will be served complimentary in the new lounge and also made available for purchase in the Alaska Airline Club, the Citrix Suite Level and on the concourse at the arena during all events.

“As a lifelong hockey fan and an avid Sharks fan, I couldn’t be happier to partner with the San Jose Sharks and SAP Center as the official wine of the BMW Lounge,” Miner Family Winery founder and owner Dave Miner said.

“All of us at Miner Family Winery are excited about this partnership and we look forward to bringing the finest wines to Sharks fans, especially members of the BMW Lounge.”

The new agreement will also include signage and branding opportunities for the Miner Family Winery throughout SAP Center, as well as the rights to host wine tasting events at the venue throughout the coming season.

John Tortora, chief operating officer of the Sharks, added: “The Miner Family has supported the Sharks for many years and our fans will enjoy the high-quality wine that Miner produces each year.

“We look forward to a long and productive partnership with Dave Miner and his dedicated employees at the Miner Family Winery.”

The length of the partnership was not disclosed.
