Uber picks up MetLife Stadium deal

MetLife Stadium, which serves as the home of NFL football teams the New York Giants and New York Jets, has linked up with ride-sharing company Uber.

The venue has named Uber as its preferred ridesharing partner, through which a dedicated pick-up zone will be set up at the stadium on game days.

An in-app feature and customised Uber signs on location will direct fans at MetLife Stadium for all events.

As part of the agreement, Uber aired 15-second television spots featuring local Jets and Giants super fan driver-partners. These will continue to be shown locally throughout the NFL season.

“MetLife Stadium continually searches for new ways to improve our guest experience,” said MetLife Stadium president and chief executive Ron VanDeVeen. “Our partnership with Uber does this by providing another convenient transportation option for guests attending Giants and Jets games at our venue.”

“Giants and Jets fans have a lot to look forward to this season,” said Uber general manager Sarfraz Maredia. “As the preferred rideshare partner of MetLife Stadium, the Jets, and the Giants, Uber is excited to help fans make the most of gameday, providing access to affordable, reliable options at the touch of a button.”

In addition, the Jets will relaunch the team’s official mobile app, which will be designed to enhance the game-day experience for supporters. The app will provide indoor and outdoor maps, an improved mobile ticketing interface and an integration with Uber.

The Jets app will also feature ‘Joan’, an artificial intelligence chatbot that will instantly answer any frequently asked questions that fans may have.
