Ridesharing app 99Pop drives Mineirão stadium deal

Ridesharing app 99Pop has linked up with Brazil’s Mineirão stadium in Minas Gerais to provide a convenient method of transport to and from the venue.

Under the agreement, Mineirão has assigned registered 99Pop cars with parking areas around the ground in an effort to support the drivers, as well as facilitate the pickup and drop-off of fans.

In addition, the ridesharing company will offer promotional codes throughout events. 99Pop said it would promote a series of fan activations at the stadium.

The firm also purchased a number of media ownership spots, while also gaining 20 stateroom boxes to be used with customers, drivers and partners of the company.

“The partnership of Mineirão with 99 is another way to provide convenience to its customers. We understand that the public is increasingly demanding, seeking novelties, comfort, fun and entertainment. Therefore, we are always in search of innovations and possibilities that make the moments lived in the stadium special and unforgettable memories,” commercial director of Mineirão, Samuel Lloyd, said, according to the Maquina do Esporte website.

The 61,846-capacity stadium served as a venue during the 2014 Fifa World Cup, as well as hosting some matches of the football tournament of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Football team Cruzeiro uses it as its home ground, with Atlético Mineiro also playing some matches at the venue.
