Arsenal to boost Emirates Stadium capacity

English Premier League football club Arsenal has confirmed that it will renovate its Emirates Stadium home ground over the next two years to bring the venue’s capacity to just over 60,600.

The addition of around 780 extra Club Level seats will see the Emirates’ capacity restored to what it was when the stadium opened back in 2006.

Arsenal has been forced to reduce the capacity of the stadium in the intervening years due to safety requirements and the installation of improved disabled facilities. Work on restoring the stadium’s capacity will take place during the summers of 2018 and 2019.

Additional areas of the Club Level of the stadium will also be upgraded and refurbished over the next two years, with the Dial Square area to be renovated next summer. The area will be transformed to celebrate Arsenal’s original name of Dial Square Football Club.

Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal’s chief commercial officer, said: “The development of Club Level is crucial to ensuring fan experience at games is at its best whilst also enabling us to stay at the forefront of stadium hospitality.  As we continue to face high demand for tickets in all areas of Emirates Stadium, this is a significant investment to ensure that as many supporters as possible are able to watch the team play at Emirates Stadium.”

Arsenal FC are due attend the annual TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit taking place in Barcelona on 28-29 November, to represent the project.
