Barcelona invites construction firms to bid for Camp Nou development contracts

Spanish LaLiga football club Barcelona has opened pre-registration windows for the construction work tender for the redevelopment of its Camp Nou stadium and the New Palau Blaugrana, home of the club’s basketball, handball, roller hockey and futsal teams.

Main construction work on the Camp Nou is expected to take place from 2019 to 2022 and Barcelona has outlined a list of criteria required of companies that wish to carry out the project.

The winning bid must have built at least one stadium in the last 10 years with a capacity of at least 40,000, with multiple references to be more strongly considered by Barcelona.

Companies must also have built at least two buildings in Spain, with a minimum of €150m (£133m/$175m) in total construction material costs in the last 10 years.

In addition, companies must have renovated at least one building, with a minimum of €25m in total construction material costs, and with the building still in use during its renovation, in the last 10 years. Multiple references will again be more strongly considered.

Companies must have also done at least €1bn in annual work during each of the last three years. Interested parties that meet the requirements should contact concursosEB@fcbarcelona.cat, expressing their intention to bid and including attachments certifying they meet the requirements.

Work on the New Palau Blaugrana, meanwhile, is expected to run from 2019 to 2021.

Companies interested in carrying out the work on the venue must have built at least one arena in the last 10 years with a capacity of 8,000; built at least two buildings in Spain with a minimum of €50m in total construction material costs in the last 10 years; and done at least €500m in annual work during each of the last three years.

Interested parties can get in touch with the club through the aforementioned email address.
