Kendal Town scores stadium naming rights partner

Kendal Town has agreed a deal for local accountancy firms Stables Thompson & Briscoe to become the new naming rights partner for its Parkside Road stadium.

The 2,400-capacity venue will now be known as the ST & B Accountants Stadium for at least the next two years.

Kendal Town, which plays in the Northern Premier League, the eighth tier of club football in England, has been based at Parkside since its foundation in 1918.

George Gudgeon, chairman of Kendal Town, said: “We’re thrilled that a company with whom we have had a long business relationship is our new stadium sponsor. ST & B accountants have been established in the town since 1930 and have a fantastic reputation.”

Helen Holmes, a director at ST & B, added: “We value our community and our football club. Being able to help maintain Kendal Town Football Club to provide the highest playing level for male and female players in this area gives us great satisfaction.”

Kendal Town currently sits 10th in the Northern Premier League table, having picked up 22 points from 16 games so far in the 2017-18 season. The club’s first match at its renamed stadium is against Prescot Cables on December 2.
