SeatGeek scores Los Angeles FC partnership

SeatGeek has become the official ticketing provider of Major League Soccer (MLS) new boys Los Angeles FC.

As part of the deal, SeatGeek will serve as both the primary and secondary ticketing marketplace partner for LAFC, who will play at the 22,000-capacity Banc of California Stadium.

LAFC is the fifth MLS club to partner with SeatGeek, joining Sporting Kansas City, Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and Minnesota United. In addition, SeatGeek serves as the official ticketing Partner of MLS.

SeatGeek’s mobile-first platform attempts to allow fans to easily buy, sell and transfer tickets to one another on their devices. Its DealScore feature and interactive maps are designed to make the seat buying process more clear and simple.

LAFC fans will also be able to use their mobile devices to scan their tickets when entering the Banc of California Stadium

“SeatGeek offers our fans and supporters a first-class ticketing experience,” said LAFC owner and president Tom Penn. “They are our top priority, and SeatGeek will help make attending a match at Banc of California Stadium seamless, uncomplicated and efficient.”

SeatGeek’s Enterprise platform allows LAFC to not only sell game tickets on team websites or through SeatGeek, but also via other team partners. Most recently, SeatGeek announced a distribution partnership with Facebook, allowing SeatGeek Enterprise clients to sell tickets directly through the social media platform.

“We’re thrilled to partner with LAFC as they bring a new brand of soccer to Los Angeles and MLS,” said SeatGeek co-founder Russ D’Souza. “LAFC’s goal is to revolutionise the way fans attend sporting events and we’re excited to be a fundamental component of that offering.”

Last month, SeatGeek announced partnerships with the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, its first ticketing partnerships in both the NFL American football league and the NBA basketball league.
