NZ Cricket modifies catch promo, adds safety conditions

Issues with crowd safety have pushed New Zealand Cricket and its partner Tui Breweries to make changes to its Tui Catch-A-Million promotion.

The modification includes adding a dedicated ‘catch zone’ at venues, in which contestants will need to be sat in order to qualify for a prize.

Any catches taken outside of these areas will be deemed ineligible.

In addition, New Zealand Cricket has added a rule that any behaviour that risks injury, such as diving, will be deemed in breach of the promotion’s terms and conditions, therefore disqualifying contestants in the event of a successful catch.

Venues will boost their communication efforts so that fans are regularly reminded of acceptable behaviour.

Eden Park and Westpac Stadium will not incorporate ‘catch zones’ at its events. However, all other amendments surrounding behaviour to the competition rules will apply to these venues.
