KOJO to drive fan engagement at Optus Stadium

Australian creative business KOJO Sport has entered into a partnership with Perth’s newly-opened Optus Stadium.

KOJO will serve as the sports presentation and game day production partner of the 60,000-seat venue. The company, which already holds a similar agreement with the Adelaide Oval, will be tasked with enhancing the fan experience at Optus Stadium.

KOJO’s local Perth team will create and deliver bespoke game-day experiences from a broadcast and production suite at the stadium. Its services will include lighting, music, video and live activations.

Optus Stadium’s design is set to lend itself to a unique fan experience for spectators, with large vision screens, LED ribbon boards, integrated television display systems and 15,000 individually controlled LED lights some of the features of the impressive venue.

KOJO has already been working with stadium operator VenuesLive to install a production suite that will allow for the seamless integration of sound, vision and lighting.

Optus Stadium chief executive Mike McKenna said: “We searched for partners that could deliver world-class sport and entertainment events, cementing Optus Stadium as a premium venue. KOJO’s demonstrated stadia experience, technical and creative capabilities and fans-first mindset secured their appointment.

“Fans will be treated to a world-class experience, featuring revolutionary technology that puts the audience in the hotseat. KOJO has built a reputation for pioneering amazing event-day atmospheres and we look forward to wowing our audiences.”

KOJO has an existing knowledge of the local sporting scene having previously partnered with the West Coast Eagles Aussie rules team and the Perth Scorchers cricket side. It also opened a permanent office in Perth last April.

Stephen Lord, executive director of brand and sport at KOJO, added: “We are thrilled to be selected to help build one of the world’s greatest sporting experiences, putting Perth and Australia on the international map. Our core team in Western Australia has been chosen to ensure delivery is of the highest standard. We have the best technical and broadcast production suite in the stadium backed by a world-class creative, technical and production team.

“We continuously refine how to deepen the fan experience. Our vision is to engage with fans throughout their entire journey, building anticipation and excitement along the way. From the moment they step into the Stadium Park, fans will feel the venue’s vibrancy and atmosphere and we believe the stadium will very quickly become a central part of Perth’s sports and entertainment culture.”

As well as Perth, KOJO has teams based in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
