NBA’s Spurs roll out revamped mobile app

NBA basketball franchise the San Antonio Spurs has relaunched its official mobile application with support from developer YinzCam.

New features on the app include an ‘Interactive Map’ option that fans can use to navigate their way around the AT&T Center and locate amenities such as the nearest Fan Shop, restroom, escalator or concession booth.

Fans accessing the map via an iOS device can also see their current position on the map, identified by a blue dot, via the Apple Indoor Positioning feature. This will also recognise when they go up or down a level inside the venue.

Fans attending Spurs home games at the AT&T Center can also use the revamped app to re-watch all key points in a game through the new ‘On-Demand Replays’ section.

The app also offers a ‘Season Ticket Member Club’, which will provide special offers and discounts, as well as show game-night menus for each of the four dining options available to members, based on the location of their tickets.

In addition, members will benefit from Single Sign-On for Ticketmaster’s Account Manager, meaning that the app will recognise them at each game and they do not have to log back in each time to manage their tickets.

Priya Narasimhan, chief executive and founder of YinzCam, which developed the original Spurs app in 2015, said: “The San Antonio Spurs spent months thinking about how to improve the mobile experience for their fans.

“We are proud to have helped them integrate some of our best practices, in terms of utilities available to fans in-arena, but also appreciated the fresh new ideas that they brought to the table to make this a truly unique app for San Antonio fans.”
