LAFC launches mobile app ahead of stadium opening

Major League Soccer expansion franchise Los Angeles FC (LAFC) has partnered with mobile services company Venuetize to launch a new mobile application for its fans.

The app is available for iPhone and Android devices and is designed to enhance the supporter experience both at Banc of California Stadium and throughout the year on non-match days.

The 22,000-seat Banc of California Stadium is due to open next month and the venue has been built to deliver unprecedented connectivity. The new app will enable fans to interact with the stadium and the team, with information such as team schedules, squad lists and bios to be made available. More features will be rolled out over the coming months.

“Through the LAFC Mobile App, we can enhance the fan and supporter experience and offer a deeper connection to the club,” LAFC executive vice-president and chief business officer Larry Freedman said. “Venuetize’s mobile-first approach, and the flexibility they offer to expand the application as we begin our inaugural season made them the right partner for developing this application.”

Karri Zaremba, co-founder and chief operating officer of Venuetize, added: “We are honoured to be working with LAFC to develop their mobile strategy, beginning with this initial phase of the LAFC Mobile App. LAFC supporters have played an important role in the development of this club and stadium from the very beginning and they’ve been involved in the development of the LAFC app.

“The Venuetize platform is designed to support a wide range of services and third-party integrations that ensure every fan at Banc of California Stadium will have a personalised guest experience.”

The 2018 season marks LAFC’s debut in MLS and the club is playing its first six fixtures away from home while work on Banc of California Stadium is completed. The team is scheduled to make its debut at the stadium on April 29 against Seattle Sounders. LAFC’s first two games of the season, against the Sounders and Real Salt Lake, have yielded two wins.
