Under the enhanced deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, Hilton will now take on responsibility for the management of the on-site hotel at the venue.

The 171-room hotel will join Hilton’s portfolio of almost 250 sites across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

David Mann, chief executive of the Ageas Bowl, said: “We’re delighted to have reached this agreement which further cements our excellent partnership with Hilton.

“Hilton is the number one hospitality brand in the world and their expertise will help us to take the level of quality, service and value at Hilton at the Ageas Bowl to a new level.”

Also known as the Rose Bowl, the Ageas Bowl is home to English county cricket team Hampshire and has also been used to host England national team matches.

Steve Cassidy, senior vice-president and managing director UK & Ireland at Hilton, added: “Having worked with the team at the Ageas Bowl under a franchise agreement, we’re thrilled to be bringing nearly a century of hotel management experience to this iconic destination.

“The signing of the management agreement further enhances Hilton’s relationship with the Ageas Bowl, with the hotel joining 65 properties under Hilton management in the UK and Ireland – including Hilton St. George’s Park and Hilton Wembley.”
