Bucks sign sausage partner for new arena

NBA basketball franchise the Milwaukee Bucks has agreed a deal for locally-based Klement Sausage Company to become the official and exclusive brat, hot dog and sausage of the team and its new arena, the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center.

The move is designed to enhance the fan experience at the 17,500-seat WESC, which is due to open later this year.

Klement’s products will be sold at each of the main concession stands at the WESC, and at two portable locations in the venue. The company will work with the arena’s senior executive Chef Kenneth Hardiman and food and beverage provider Levy to create craft sausages and products that will be exclusive to the WESC.

Klement’s will also be the title sponsor of the Milwaukee Mondays initiative, which will celebrate local musicians, artists and the team itself during Monday night home games. Interactive fan activations will also be launched as part of the agreement.

“We’re thrilled that Klement’s, a Milwaukee favourite, will be an integral part of the delicious food experience at our new world-class venue,” Bucks president Peter Feigin said. “Klement’s shares our vision for delivering the best authentic local offerings to our guests.”

Klement’s president and chief executive Tom Danneker added: “Klement’s is thrilled to partner with the Milwaukee Bucks once again. We have a long history with the Bucks, so this is a homecoming of sorts for us. Our goal has always been to invest in events and organisations that are important in Wisconsin and Milwaukee. Given the excitement around the Bucks and the new arena, there is no better partnership for Klement’s than with the Milwaukee Bucks.”
