Tottenham stadium continues to take shape as new images released

Tottenham Hotspur has released a series of images to update fans on progress of its new home stadium.

Due to open in time for the 2018-19 Premier League season, the facility will have a total capacity of around 62,000 and feature a whole host of modern amenities.

The latest images from the development site show perforated metal panels that will form a veil surrounding the stadium. A total of 4,801 panels will be fitted to modular frames and affixed to the rear of the stands.

Manufactured in Germany, certain panels will light up and create a visual effect similar to that at the Allianz Arena, home of German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich.

Tottenham intends to light up the panels both on matchdays and non-matchdays, as well as in the daytime and at night.

In addition to serving as Tottenham’s new home stadium, the venue will be used to host NFL American football games as part of the league’s International Series. The first NFL match is due to take place at the new site on October 14, when the Seattle Seahawks face off against the Oakland Raiders.
