Cubs confirm return of Chef Series to Wrigley Field

Major League Baseball franchise the Chicago Cubs has confirmed that the Chef Series food event, which it runs it collaboration with hospitality partner Levy, will return to its Wrigley Field ballpark this year.

Presented by Maker’s Mark for a second year, the event will feature a wider line-up of local celebrity chefs, with fans able to sample various types of food.

Chefs will serve menus reflective of their own culinary style, featuring dishes and cocktail pairings on a rotating basis. Dishes on offer range from chefs’ signature items, through to their take on ballpark classics.

The event will take place in the newly renovated Sheffield Corner space in right field beginning June 5, with Levy to serve fan favourites following the Chef Series dates in September.

Returning chefs this year include Stephanie Izard, Rick Bayless, Matthias Merges and Graham Elliot, while Tony Mantuano, Christine Cikowsk and Josh Kulp will all make their debut at the Chef Series.

Alex Sugarman, executive vice-president of business operations and chief strategy officer at the Cubs, said: “When we introduced the Chef Series last year, the new chef-driven approach to ballpark favourites really resonated with our fans.

“We are always striving at Wrigley Field to increase the variety of our food offerings and elevate the fan experience, so we are excited to welcome back our All-Star line-up of award-winning culinary talent in 2018.”

David Burns, executive chef for Levy at Wrigley Field, added: “As we evolve the approach to chef-driven food at Wrigley Field, it’s been great to collaborate with world class culinary talent from our own backyard.

“I love seeing our partner chefs’ excitement at the chance to serve their signature dishes here at the Friendly Confines.”
