Wolfpack quenches Beer Garden thirst

Canadian rugby league team the Toronto Wolfpack has announced plans to bring back its popular ‘Beer Garden’ feature at its Lamport Stadium for home matches throughout the 2018 season.

Located at the North End-Zone of Lamport Stadium, the facility will be open to fans before all home games, close during the match, and then open again for a further two hours after the game has ended.

The Wolfpack runs the initiative in partnership with the Craft Guys, an agency that links craft breweries, ciders and spirits with events in the local area. The two parties have signed a multi-year deal to keep the Beer Garden running.

Fans can access seven Craft Brewer’s tents, a Cider Tent, a Wine and Spirit’s Bar and a variety of smaller themed vendors, as well as enjoy live music and interact with Wolfpack players after each game.

Scott Lidbury, commercial, general manager at the Wolfpack, said: “The Beer Garden helped generate a festival-like atmosphere as fans were able to enjoy a variety of craft beer, ciders and fun cocktails while cheering on the Wolfpack.

“We are very excited to grow upon that again this year by enhancing the game day experience with a strong commitment to supporting up and coming family and local businesses.”

Joe Santos, chief executive of the Craft Guys, added: “The game day experience that we are providing fans is extremely unique and revolutionary within the Toronto sports market… and we feel like it’s the best afternoon party in town.”
