Bucks’ new arena draws highest ticket demand

Demand for Milwaukee Bucks season tickets has hit an all-time high for the team’s first NBA season in its new Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center home.

ESPN reports that no other NBA franchise has shifted more than the 2,200 new full season ticket packages the Bucks have sold.

Scheduled to open this autumn, the new venue will replace BMO Harris Bradley Center as the Bucks’ new 17,500-capacity arena.

“We’ve had great support from the city and there’s so much excitement around the new arena, having a new coach and of course, the Giannis effect,” said Jamie Morningstar, the team’s senior vice president of ticket sales and service.

Morningstar said that the team is on track to sell 10,000 season tickets for the first time in history, with a total of 8,400 as of Monday.

Season-ticket prices range from $20 per game to $2,000 for courtside seats, which come with access to all-inclusive clubs.

The Bucks have sold out all 67 suites and lofts, with those contracts ranging from three to 12-year commitments and including every event in the venue.

The NBA team’s regular-season attendance jumped by 5.7 per cent this past season, during which the team made a second straight playoff appearance.

The Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center will be one of only a handful of NBA venues to offer gender-neutral bathrooms.

The Bucks have also partnered with food and beverage provider Levy on a sustainability project for the WESC that will result in the arena not offering plastic straws. The venue will also use compostable food packaging as part of the initiative.
