Virtex Apps has entered into a partnership with North American Minor League Baseball team the Ottawa Champions.

Under the deal, Champions fans will have access to the company’s ‘Virtex Arena’ augmented reality mobile application.

Virtex Arena enables fans to compete in various stadium-wide AR games during downtime at live sporting events.

Champions fans were able to use the service for the first time at the team’s RCGT Park during a home game on June 19.

Jeff Green, founder and chief executive of Virtex Apps, said: “ It’s exciting to find eager partners who saw the power of what Virtex Arena can do to enrich the game experience.

“Together we’re looking forward to engaging fans in an entirely new way.”
