Bucks arena lands UFC event

The Milwaukee Bucks’ new Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center (WESC) has been awarded hosting rights for a UFC event in December.

The 17,500-capacity arena will host the top mixed martial arts competition on Saturday December 15, with on-sale tickets and the fight card to be announced soon.

“We are thrilled to bring the UFC to our new arena as we continue to deliver the best in sports and entertainment to Milwaukee,” said WESC general manager Raj Saha.

“Milwaukee has a deep-rooted history in mixed martial arts as many UFC champions and fighters have trained here. It is going to be a great night of fights.”

Scheduled to open this autumn, the new WESC venue will replace BMO Harris Bradley Center as the Bucks’ new arena.

Demand for the NBA basketball franchise’s season tickets has hit an all-time high for the team’s first season at WESC, with the team said to be on track to sell 10,000 season tickets for the first time in its history, with a total of 8,400 having been recorded in early June.
