Industry appointments round-up: July 28 to August 3

A round-up of key appointments from within the sports and events industries over the past week.

Vibe Tickets has appointed Hannah Morris (pictured) as its new commercial director. Morris previously held senior positions with Groupon and ticketscript and will be tasked with expanding Vibe Tickets’ presence and accelerating its monetisation plans.

Scottish Premiership football club Aberdeen has appointed Robert Wicks to its board with immediate effect. Wicks was recently appointed as the club’s commercial director and his appointment to the board is designed to steer the delivery of Aberdeen’s strategy over the coming years. Aberdeen is set to move to a new stadium complex, with work having started on the wide-ranging project back in April.

Joe Crowley has joined Major League Baseball team the Los Angeles Dodgers as senior vice-president of operations. Crowley previously spent 10 years running operations for the United States Tennis Association.

Linda Turner has taken up a new role as ticketing manager for the AEG Ogden Middle East start-up. Turner, who spent 17 years running ticketing at ACC Liverpool/Echo Arena, will manage and deliver ticketing services for Dubai Arena, which will open in 2019.

Eddie Lee has signed a new fixed-term contract as box office consultant to De Montfort Hall. Lee, a veteran of the ticketing sector, will work with De Montfort Hall and Leicester City Council to review box office services including people, systems and solutions.

English Championship football club Preston North End is seeking a stadium technician to work at its Deepdale home ground. The candidate will report directly to the club’s maintenance manager and is expected to have at least five years of work experience in the field. More details can be found here.

The group preparing to launch a new Major League Soccer team in the US city of Miami has appointed Paul McDonough as its sporting director. McDonough recently served as vice-president of soccer operations at MLS team Atlanta United. He will work with managing owner Jorge Mas and owner and president of football operations David Beckham in his new role at the Miami franchise.
