West Ham fans get say on stadium displays

English Premier League football club West Ham United has invited supporters to put forward their ideas for new décor at the team’s London Stadium home.

The club is planning to install a series of special displays around the venue to depict some of the greatest moments in West Ham’s history.

Fans can cast their vote on the club’s official website, with the most popular to be produced and installed at the stadium ahead of the 2018-19 season, which kicks off next weekend.

Shortlisted achievements include West Ham winning the FA Cup for the first time in May 1964, Paulo di Canio’s famous volley against Wimbledon in March 2000 and when West Ham became the first English team to field three black players in a match in April 1972.

The new installations will join other club-related features at the London Stadium as West Ham continues to adapt the venue as its home, following the move from its old Boleyn Ground in 2016.

The club recently added a series of concourse displays to commemorate team captains of years gone by, as well as the team’s crests over the years and various club record-breakers.
