BTS set for landmark stadium show in New York

K-pop sensation BTS will make history this autumn by becoming the first Korean artists to perform at a stadium in the US.

BTS will take to the stage at Citi Field in New York City on October 6 in what is set to be a sold-out event.

The group will soon embark on a tour of North America, with scheduled stops in both the US and Canada. However, the recently confirmed Citi Field show will be the only stadium event on the tour.

Citi Field boasts a capacity of more than 40,000 and although this will likely be lowered at the event in order to make room for the stage, it will be the largest-ever show by a Korean artist in the US, according to TIME.

Tickets for the show are due to go on sale on August 17.

BTS has had a phenomenally successful year, not just in its native Korea, but in countries around the world.

In May, BTS topped the US album charts after ‘Love Yourself’ sold 135,000 total albums in its debut week.

BTS was also named among TIME’s ’25 Most Influential People on the Internet’ in both 2017 and 2018.
