MelodyVR has struck a partnership with NEC Group Arenas to offer virtual reality access to live events at its venues in Birmingham, UK.
Members of the public will be able to access a selection of live events held at the Genting Arena and Arena Birmingham, including performances from bands such as Royal Blood, The Script and UB40.
MelodyVR will also begin to stream real-time concerts via VR and offer virtual tickets to sold-out shows in the coming months.
Tickets to the concerts, as well as virtual tickets, will be available to buy via the MelodyVR application via the Oculus Go or Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headsets. The service will be available via more platforms soon, MelodyVR added.
The Ticket Factory, the official box office for NEC Group Arenas, will reveal which upcoming shows will be available via MelodyVR on its website.

“Their usage of exciting features and technological capabilities means missing a ‘must-see’ or sold out show could become a thing of the past. Nothing can beat experiencing live music in a venue, but offering VR concerts to our customers gives them more opportunities to experience the live music they love and get closer to artists than ever before.”
Viewers will be able to choose from different ‘Jump Spot’ perspectives, including the front row, deep in the crowd, or with the performer or band on stage.
