Kofler adds Estádio da Luz to client portfolio

Hospitality services provider Kofler has agreed a deal to become the exclusive hospitality partner of Lisbon’s Estádio da Luz, home of Primeira Liga football club Benfica.

Estádio da Luz joins Kofler’s portfolio of partners which already includes venues such as Shanghai’s Mercedes-Benz Arena and São Paulo’s Allianz Parque.

Kofler will be responsible for all hospitality services at the 64,000-seat stadium, which hosted the 2014 UEFA Champions League final, along with several matches during Portugal’s staging of the UEFA Euro 2004 national team tournament.

The partnership has been signed to coincide with the start of the 2018-19 football season. Kofler Portugal will also oversee the Estádio da Luz’s two new restaurants, which will each have a capacity of 180 people and will be open on non-matchdays. The agreement also covers 29 food stands, 20 mobile kiosks, six VIP lounges and 154 SkyBoxes.

KP Kofler, chief executive and founder of Kofler Group, said: “We are working very closely with the club to create an exciting food concept for fans and stadium visitors. We will focus primarily on simple traditional Portuguese dishes, prepared with regional ingredients. We are working together with local suppliers to create an authentic and consistent taste.”

The stadium’s two new restaurants are due to be ready in early 2019.
