AEG replaces StubHub with AXS

Global venue giant AEG has named its AXS division as its new official ticket reseller after the conclusion of its deal with StubHub.

AXS’s digital ticket technology will now feature at 30 of AEG’s venues and sports franchises across the US. According to the Wall Street Journal, AEG said AXS’s platform will give artists more control over how and how much tickets can be sold and resold for.

AXS believes its partnership with AEG will make it easier for fans to access tickets for the shows they want to see.

“You never want to be in a situation where you have to turn away a fan because you don’t have something to sell them,” AXS chief executive Bryan Perez told the WSJ.

AEG venues include Los Angeles’ Staples Center (home to its LA Kings), Minneapolis’ Target Center, New York’s PlayStation Theater and Kansas City’s Sprint Center.

AEG chief executive Dan Beckerman told the WSJ that the deal “not only gives fans the streamlined mobile experience they want, but also provides us with an important tool to tailor offers and personalise experiences while at our venues.”
