Qatar Airways partners up with Barclays Center, Nets

Qatar Airways has today (Wednesday) entered into the NBA sponsorship market by agreeing a deal with the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center, the team’s home arena.

The multi-year deal makes Qatar Airways the official global airline partner of the Nets and the arena, marking the first major partnership between the company and an NBA basketball team or venue.

As part of the agreement, Barclays Center’s Courtside Club will become the Qatar Airways Club, and the airline will also receive branding on all courtside seats.

Brett Yormark, chief executive Officer of BSE Global, which operates the Nets and Barclays Center, said: “It has been an ongoing priority of the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center to expand our reach globally, and Qatar Airways helps us bring brand awareness to a dynamic new audience.”

Qatar Airways’ codeshare partner, JetBlue, will continue as the official domestic airline partner of the Nets and Barclays Center. Qatar Airways currently operates two daily flights to New York.
