NFL American football teams the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers have partnered with solar energy provider Power Home Solar to support their efforts to ‘go green’ at their home stadia.
Power Home Solar will work with the Panthers to maximise energy efficiency at the team’s Bank of America Stadium, reduce energy costs and minimise the team’s carbon footprint. Through its partnership with the Browns, Power Home Solar will also install solar panels at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Renewable energy solutions and solar panels will be introduced at Bank of America Stadium and FirstEnergy Stadium in the coming weeks. The teams will also work with Power Home Solar on sustainability goals and responsible energy practices, while the company will offer Panthers and Browns fans the chance to sample clean energy solutions through promotions, giveaways and education programs.
The teams join a short but growing list of NFL franchises utilising solar energy to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and build healthier, more sustainable communities.
Jayson Waller, co-founder of Power Home Solar and Roofing, which is headquartered in North Carolina, said: “We are so proud to be partnering with the Panthers on this green initiative in our home state. Together, we’ll be building a movement that will not only help the organisation address sustainability and environmental challenges for future generations of Panthers players and fans, it will encourage today’s fans to think about ways they can go green for the greater good of North Carolina and our planet.”
