Euroleague Basketball gets fans moving with Moovit

Euroleague Basketball has entered into a continent-wide partnership with Moovit, whereby the mobility data and analytics company will assist fans travelling to games throughout the 2018-19 campaign.

Moovit will serve as the league’s official mobility partner, following on from a successful trial period for the playoffs and Final Four games last season.

Moovit will provide fans with real-time public transit information for all games at the league’s arenas across Europe. The competition includes teams from Greece, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Spain, Lithuania, Israel, Montenegro, and Germany.

Fans can also use the Moovit app to plan trips, access directions and set ‘Get Off Alerts’ so that they know when to leave public transport and head to the game.

Moovit, which provides its services in 44 languages, works with more than 100 sporting and entertainment events and venues around the world.

Roser Queralto, chief development officer at Euroleague Basketball, said: “We saw Moovit’s dedication to the partnership and to EuroLeague fans last year when they specifically added Montenegro and the city of Podgorica to the app for the basketball events.

“We want to simplify our supporters’ experience in terms of mobility, and we couldn’t think of a better partner than Moovit to help us do this.”

Yovav Meydad, chief marketing officer at Moovit, added: “EuroLeague puts its fans first, including finding the best way to help them get to and from games in cities throughout the league.

“Moovit is excited to enhance the game-day experience for basketball fans throughout the entire season, and to be the official mobility partner for yet another high-profile global sporting event.”
