A new 200-seat restaurant and accompanying 50-capacity VIP lounge have opened at The SSE Arena, Wembley.
The Empire Bar & Grill and Empire Lounge will incorporate a modern twist on an art deco concept with their styling. The restaurant will also feature a ‘Tabletop’ tablet ordering system, providing guests with a more streamlined experience.
Levy Leisure UK appointed design and installation company RDA to transform the existing space, with the new restaurant and lounge offering views of Arena Square.
The restaurant will feature photographs from the original construction of the building, which opened in 1934 as the Empire Pool. The Empire Bar & Grill and Empire Lounge will be located in a unique space above the main foyer of the arena and will be open to visitors on show days.
John Drury, vice-president and general manager of the arena, said: “We are extremely proud of the new Empire Bar & Grill and Empire Lounge. The lounge gives us our first VIP area on the north side of the building, and will complement our three south side lounges.
“It will also allow us to offer special entrance, club seat and lounge in one VIP package. The new Bar & Grill will give our customers a premium dining experience in a prime location.”
RDA director Nick Bradley added: “It has been a privilege to work on this project in such an iconic building and bring some of its history back to life through design. There are injections of glamour with deep accent colours and gold finishes throughout; a subtle homage to how the Empire Pool has evolved into a world-class music venue over the years.”
