Industry appointments round-up: November 24-30

A round-up of key appointments from within the sports and events industries over the past week.

AudienceView, a leader in e-commerce software for events and entertainment organisations, has named Lawrence Franco as its new chief operating officer. Franco (pictured) will activate the strategies for AudienceView’s growing global operations and will oversee the day-to-day management of customer success, engineering and sales as well as AudienceView’s media division, which includes TheaterMania and WhatsOnStage. Franco joins AudienceView from IT and professional training company Global Knowledge, where he served as president, North America.

Virtual advertising technology company Supponor has named Ross Hair as its new managing director. Hair joins the company from Discovery Communications, where he served as senior vice-president. He has also held roles at ESPN and Sony Pictures Television International.

Supponor has also appointed Steve Plunkett as its chief product officer. Plunkett formerly worked for Ericsson in the company’s broadcast and media services business. In his new role, he will be responsible for Supponor’s Product and Technology functions and will lead teams in London and Helsinki.

Emma Meehan has been named as the new chief executive of Down Royal Racecourse in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Meehan joins Down Royal after having spent more than a decade at Dundalk Racecourse, where she worked in racing and stadium management, as well as marketing.

Michalis Fragkiadakis has started a new position as operations director at catering firm Levy UK. Fragkiadakis joins Levy UK from English Premier League football club Manchester United, where he served as head of catering and event delivery.
