Major League Baseball team the Chicago White Sox has teamed up with the Goose Island Beer Company to open a new space at Guaranteed Rate Field known as ‘The Goose Island’.

The space will be located in right field and will debut in the 2019 season. The remodelled section will be surrounded by running water fixtures along all four sides and will seek to transform two outfield seating sections into a new space.

The space will feature a variety of seating options, offering field-level views, group party areas and individual seating as well as a fun, social space in standing-room rows near the outfield concourse.

All areas of The Goose Island will have in-seat service, with 326 seats to be made available in the section. The first few rows of the section will be fitted with leather seats complete with armrests and cup-holders, device changing ports, television screens and shelves for storage.

Seats for this area include in-heat service and $20 (£15.21/€17.50) of loaded value with each ticket to be spent in-park on food, beverages or team merchandise.

Goose Island has also taken on naming rights to the bar area next to the visiting bullpen, which will now become the Goose Island Craft Kave, and a walk-up bar accessible from the 100-level outfield concourse. A 10-foot Goose Island tap handle statue will also be fitted in the outfield concourse area overlooking the ballpark.

Goose Island will continue to benefit from in-market retail promotions, including a digital activation with the team’s social media during the upcoming season.

Goose Island Beer Company president Todd Ahsmann said: “It feels like a dream come true to bring Goose Island to the pride of the South Side. I’ve been a huge fan my entire life and can’t wait to celebrate in this new space. With great beer and promising team on the field, what’s not to look forward to?”

Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice-president of sales and marketing, added: “’The Goose Island’ and the Goose Island Craft Kave are going to be ‘must-visit’ spots for every fan who attends a White Sox game. Island shares our passion for delivering a completely unique fan experience and this new section will not only add to the unique look of Guaranteed Rate Field, but also offer a cool game-viewing experience.”
