Inter signs Moovit partnership for San Siro

Italian Serie A football club Inter Milan has entered into a partnership with Moovit, a leading Mobility as a Service (MaaS) provider, to enhance the experience for fans travelling to the San Siro stadium on match days.

The partnership began yesterday (Sunday) with Inter’s 1-0 home defeat against Bologna. As well as home matches, the agreement covers Inter’s games across Italy and in European competitions.

As part of the agreement, Inter fans will be given detailed information on how to reach San Siro on match days. Supporters will also be guided to specific and dedicated entrances via public transport.

Moovit will provide trip plans, real-time arrivals and live directions, eliminating the need for supporters to use their cars on match days. Fans are able to download Moovit’s app for free on Android and iOS devices. The app will provide all transit updates and service changes and suggest the most direct route to San Siro.

Samuel Sed Piazza, Moovit’s director of partnerships, said: “Inter is the first team in Milan to have chosen to work with Moovit for its mobility needs. This is a team that has the highest average number of spectators in the current championship, and the only Italian team within the top ten European teams in terms of game attendance between August and December 2018.

“This collaboration marks a solid commitment on Inter’s part to support sustainable mobility and for Moovit, represents an important recognition of the work that we’re doing all over the world to facilitate and promote the use of alternative transit options.”

Inter’s corporate chief executive Alessandro Antonello added: “The agreement with Moovit, the world’s number one public transit app, will help Inter’s fans travel around the city and will allow them to reach all the stadiums that Inter will play at in both in Italy and in Europe.

“Users will be able to identify the best route to visit San Siro, the Inter Store, and all the stadiums that will host the Nerazzurri in a fast and sustainable manner, with public transit and sharing options available. This is an innovative agreement for the club, which will allow us to further improve our fans’ experience on match day, from home to the stadium and back.”
