Heracles claims first for Dutch market with naming rights deal

Dutch Eredivisie football club Heracles Almelo has extended its partnership with main sponsor Asito in a deal that also grants the cleaning services company naming rights to its stadium.

Asito is currently in its third season as Heracles’ shirt sponsor and the two parties have now agreed a 10-year deal tying them together until July 1, 2029. Polman Stadion will retain its current moniker until July 1, at which point its new name will be revealed.

Heracles said the length of the contract is unique in the Netherlands. The two parties said that through the deal they aim to make the club and stadium a central place in the local region for social initiatives. In the coming years projects will be formed under the themes of education, health and wellbeing.

Rob Toussaint, managing director of Heracles Almelo, said: “This exceptional cooperation speaks a lot about mutual trust. It enables the club to continue to pursue sporting ambitions. Heracles Almelo is a stable Eredivisie club that wants to play attractive football… and regularly compete for European football. Development on all aspects within the club is always the starting point.”

Polman Stadion first opened in September 1999 and after two expansion projects currently has a capacity of around 13,000.
