Golden 1 Center claims first with in-arena record store

Golden 1 Center, home of NBA basketball team the Sacramento Kings, has claimed a world first with the opening of an in-arena record store.

Amplified Records will be an interactive space for guests to purchase and listen to records, as well as buy tickets for upcoming events at Golden 1 Center.

The store will be located on the Bridge Level near Section 209 at Golden 1 Center and will be open during each Kings home game. It will feature vinyl records of artists who have either performed or are scheduled to perform at the arena.

The space was opened yesterday (Wednesday) by DJ and producer Steve Aoki, whose new SVN Sound Neon 100 headphones will be featured on turntable listening stations in the store.

“Sacramento is the birth place of Tower Records and has a rich history in vinyl records,” John Rinehart, the Kings’ president of business operations, said. “We are excited to have DJ and producer Steve Aoki here to help us launch Amplified Records, as we build on Golden 1 Center’s music culture and provide guests the experience of purchasing records and tickets in anticipation of upcoming concerts and events.”

A host of high-profile acts have performed at Golden 1 Center since it opened in 2016, including Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, Katy Perry, Elton John and Lady Gaga.
