Industry appointments round-up: Arena, DEAG, Lagardère Sports

This week’s round-up includes Chris Morris’ appointment as chief executive of the UK and Europe division of Arena Events Group.

Morris has over two decades of experience in the sports, leisure and hospitality sectors and will join the event solutions and temporary infrastructure company on March 19. For more details on his appointment, check out our full story from earlier in the week.

DEAG, a leading entertainment services company operating across Europe, has appointed Roman Velke as its chief financial officer. Velke will take over the position from Ralph Quellmalz and will join DEAG on April 1.

Velke has close to 20 years of experience in the financing and auditing sectors and has worked directly and indirectly in the live entertainment sector since the start of his career. In his new role at DEAG, Velke will oversee management board areas of finance and investor relations.

Joaquín Martínez has taken up a new role as senior director of projects and business in Europe at the Lagardère Sports agency. The job will cover areas such as stadium planning and commercialisation, as well as marketing for football clubs and other sports entities. Martínez previously worked as a senior manager at KPMG’s sport advisory practice.
