Eagles extend Lincoln Financial Field naming rights deal

Lincoln Financial Group has struck a 10-year extension to its naming rights agreement for the home stadium of NFL American football franchise the Philadelphia Eagles.

The partnership, which began in 2002, is one of the longest naming rights relationships in the NFL and will now run through the 2032 season.

Financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed, but local newspaper The Inquirer said it will total $170m (£130.5m/€151.3m), or average $12.14m per season. The original deal, which was set to expire in 2022, paid the Eagles $139.6m over 20 seasons.

Lincoln Financial Field has been home to the Eagles and Temple University’s college football team since it opened in August 2003. Under the new agreement, Lincoln Financial Group will have a more dynamic presence within the 69,176-capacity venue with new signage (pictured) prominently featured in, around and on top of the stadium.

The extension of the relationship ensures that Lincoln Financial Group and the Eagles will continue to partner on community programs, such as the Eagles Eye Mobile and Eagles Glasses Lab, which provides underserved children throughout the Philadelphia region with access to eye exams, glasses and follow-up care annually. To date, this program has helped thousands of students receive eye care that was previously unavailable to them.

In addition to the community partnerships that fund and facilitate the Eagles Eye Mobile and Eagles Glasses Lab, Lincoln Financial Group is a presenting sponsor of the 2019 Eagles Autism Challenge, which raised over $2.5m for autism research in its first year.
