Bleep supplies payment solution at Champions League final

Bleep UK, which specialises in the design and manufacturing of Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) systems, installed an EPOS and payments solution comprising 80 terminals for retail stores at Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final in Madrid.

A total of 73 Bleep TS-813 EPOS terminals were deployed, with built-in printers, barcode scanners and POS media video customer displays, all sending live sales and stock data to Web Back Office.

Each terminal at Madrid’s Estadio Wanda Metropolitano had an Ingenico iPP350 pin pad integrated for ultra-fast and secure contactless payments. This was installed in the retail stores at the fan zones and outside of the stadium, the hospitality and VIP areas inside the stadium and the superstore in the heart of Madrid.

A further 10 self-service EPOS Kiosks were also deployed in the MasterCard VIP area, where VIPs could ‘tap and collect’ by ordering merchandise on the innovative, user-friendly kiosks and pay on their pre-loaded wristbands. Items were then available to collect after the match.

Saturday’s match saw Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to claim its sixth Champions League title.

John Wellman, group chief executive of Bleep UK, said: “It was with great pride that we were selected to supply another prestigious world-class event outside of the UK. The final truly was an all-English affair with both Liverpool and Spurs delivering a memorable final on the pitch and Bleep doing what we do best off it.

“We are the champions when it comes to temporary and pop-up EPOS and payment solutions for the biggest and best events – all because of our ability to provide fast transactions, secure payments and real-time sales reporting.”

Bleep will this summer deploy EPOS and payment solutions at events such as The Open, Wimbledon and the Rugby World Cup in Japan, as well as festivals including Glastonbury, Download and the Isle of Wight Festival.
