Nantes launches escape room venture

French Ligue 1 football club FC Nantes has claimed a first with the launch of an escape game at its Stade de la Beaujoire.

Nantes has partnered with Bejoue and la Ligue des Gentlemen in the venture, with players offered an hour to solve various puzzles and complete tasks in the home team’s changing room before ‘escaping’ onto the pitch at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

Nantes has stressed that no knowledge of the club, or football in general, is needed to compete, with teams of between four to six players charged from €20 (£17.80/$22.50) apiece, with discounts of 20% available for club members, under-18s and students.

Nantes added that the game can be setup for two opposing teams to compete against each other, with tickets to home matches set to be granted to the winners.
