Louisville City secures stadium sponsor

United Soccer League (USL) franchise Louisville City FC has agreed a deal for the Lynn Family to sponsor the club’s new stadium, which is set to open next spring.

The newly-named Lynn Family Stadium will have a capacity of 14,000, with permanent seating for over 11,000 fans.

The Lynn Family has committed to a 10-year partnership with Louisville City, which won back-to-back USL Championship titles in 2017 and 2018. The family also sponsors the University of Louisville’s football stadium, which is known as the Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.

Louisville City was founded in 2014 and currently plays at Slugger Field, which is primarily a baseball stadium.

Club president Brad Estes said: “The Lynn Family are the perfect fit for Louisville City because they believe in the same things we do as an organisation: family, community and success. We feel fortunate to have a long-term partnership with a naming-rights sponsor who aligns with our club’s values.”

The club has partnered with Messer-Harmon JV to build the new $65m (£53.4m/€58.1m) stadium and in April live entertainment company AEG Facilities was appointed to manage the venue. AEG Facilities will also provide services such as event content development, purchasing, vendor services, marketing and event-day operations.
