Raiders add Twitch as latest Allegiant Stadium partner

Streaming service Twitch has signed on as a founding partner of Allegiant Stadium, the under-construction new home of the Oakland Raiders NFL American football team.

Twitch’s sponsorship of the Las Vegas stadium will begin in 2020. The agreement will include a Twitch-branded lounge in the lower level of the 65,000-capacity stadium.

The lounge will feature interactive elements that relate to the Twitch experience, such as streamer stations, viewing screens, esports competitions and future Twitch events. The lounge will also introduce Twitch’s live-streaming capabilities and community to a range of entertainment experiences planned for Allegiant Stadium.

Sara Clemens, chief operating officer at Twitch, said: “At Twitch, we are constantly looking for new ways to engage with our community online and IRL. Being a founding partner at Allegiant Stadium is a perfect opportunity for Twitch to converge our passionate gaming and live esports community with the world of traditional sports.

“As part of our long-term vision for multiplayer entertainment, we are excited to elevate the spectator experience at live events in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world.”

Raiders president Marc Badain added: “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Twitch as the official streaming platform of the Raiders and Allegiant Stadium. The Twitch Lounge will elevate the spectator experience for Raiders fans in a brand new way – bridging the connection between fans in the stadium and at home unlike ever before.”

The deal was brokered by Legends Global Partnerships, the official premium ticketing and sponsorships agency of Allegiant Stadium.

The Raiders are due to move from Oakland to the new state-of-the-art stadium in Las Vegas next year. The stadium will be located adjacent to the Las Vegas Strip and will also host events such as the Pac-12 Championship Game and Las Vegas Bowl, concerts, and UNLV American football games.

Las Vegas-based travel company Allegiant was unveiled as the naming-rights sponsor of the stadium last month. Twitch joins Credit One Bank as a founding partner of the venue.
