The Golden State Warriors have become the first NBA basketball team to create their own secondary resale marketplace solely for suites following the opening of their new Chase Center arena.
The Warriors’ GSW Sports Ventures arm has launched Suite Exchange with a view towards connecting Chase Center premium suite holders with a broader network of buyers interested in hospitality for concerts, events and Warriors games.
Suite Exchange is owned and operated by GSW Ventures, and verified by Chase Center, as all suite holders and buyers are authenticated by the venue. The platform has gone live at suitexchange.com, with the game against Utah Jazz on November 11 currently the first Warriors event with suite availability.
Two Courtside Lounges, with capacity for 16 and 12 tickets, respectively, are being advertised with the latter being priced at $20,000 (£15,520/€17,980). Three Theater Boxes, with capacities of four tickets apiece, are being advertised at between $4,000 and $6,000.
“We think this is a unique and innovative program that will provide a tremendous value add for our suite holders, which is always a primary goal of ours,” said Warriors president and chief operating officer Rick Welts. “There was a need for a program of this nature in the premium space and, with the move to Chase Center, the timing is perfect.”
The new 18,064-capacity arena, privately financed in Mission Bay, San Francisco at a cost of $1.4bn, officially opened last month and is designed to take the Warriors to the next level as a business entity.
