Exterity has teamed up with GL events Audiovisual to install end-to-end IP video solutions at Matmut Stadium de Gerland, home of French Top 14 rugby union team LOU Rugby.
The installation spans 110 screens and provides access to 42 channels and rugby TV packages, including three beIN channels and Canal Plus, along with replays of matches for the team and coaches.
On-site restaurant La Brasserie will also show music videos from MTV on five screens that have been equipped with the Exterity system.
All of Exterity’s solutions have been equipped with content protection using Samsung LYNKTM Digital Rights Management to guarantee that content transmitted over the IP video and signage solutions is fully secure.
The IP video system is complemented by Exterity’s digital signage solution ArtioSign, which is being used in the LOU club shop and throughout Matmut Stadium de Gerland. ArtioSign allows LOU Rugby to offer interactive information and promotions about new merchandise, upcoming fixtures and other events, as well as weather forecasts and public transport timetables.
Exterity’s system has also been fitted in the Village SEGECO, the stadium’s main reception area which is used to host all pre- and post-game dinners for the club’s 1,300 partners.
“Sports fans and corporate visitors expect their visit to our stadium to be memorable, so we wanted to give them a Top 14 experience with a tech-savvy, useful and personal touch,” Michael Franchitti, technical manager at LOU Rugby, said.
“The Exterity solutions and the work done by GL events Audiovisual enabled us to immediately use the system to make each visit unique, and we’re finding the system so flexible we keep adding new features for our guests.”
Matmut Stadium de Gerland was originally designed to host football matches and formerly served as the home of Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais. The stadium, which was also a host venue during the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2007 Rugby World Cup, began hosting LOU Rugby matches in 2017. The stadium can also be rented by third-party organisations.
Germain Botteau, project manager at GL events Audiovisual, added: “Organisations renting Matmut Stadium want to be able to create a unique event without compromising on their brand. Being able to achieve it can be difficult, and this is where the Exterity system is so valuable: both easy to use and highly flexible, it provides non-specialists with an effective method to deliver their message in their colours and at the time they want. As a specialist in technical services for custom events, this is a perfect addition to the sound, lighting and other solutions that we use to turn a venue into an immersive event.”
Exterity is a leading provider of IP video and digital signage technologies.
