Baltimore Ravens launch ‘FlockBot’ virtual assistant

The Baltimore Ravens NFL American football team has introduced FlockBot, a new virtual assistant that gives fans the chance to ask questions about M&T Bank Stadium.

FlockBot – which the Ravens stressed is not a real person – will be contactable 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service will be accessible through the Ravens Mobile app and via the Contact Us page on the team’s official website.

Fans will be able to ask FlockBot what time M&T Bank Stadium opens on a specific game day, or where they can find a specific food item at the venue. The service will give an immediate response and, if necessary, connect fans to a real person who can provide extra information.

Dave Lang, director of digital media for the team, said: “We’re always thinking about how we can utilise technology to enhance the fan experience – both inside and outside the stadium. Our hope is the FlockBot will help us to improve customer service by more rapidly responding to fans questions and concerns.”

In July, the Ravens completed work on the final phase of a $120m (£93m/€108m) renovation of M&T Bank Stadium. The project focused on enhancing the fan experience at the 71,000-capacity stadium and included the installation of new 4K UHD video displays, escalators and elevators, a new sound system, upgraded kitchen facilities, a redesigned club level and updated suites.
