Hyundai takes Lyon fans closer to the action

Olympique Lyonnais fans will be given the chance to secure the best seats in the house at Groupama Stadium after the French Ligue 1 club’s top-tier sponsor, Hyundai, announced a new fan experience initiative.

Supporters will be given the chance to prove they are ‘Preums’ – diehard fans – and win the chance to watch a match from two leather car seats positioned right next to the touchline, and even closer to the action than the two dugouts.

Before kick-off, the seats will be handed over to the fan who is the quickest to type into Twitter a long sentence that is shown on the scoreboard and read out by the stadium announcer before posting it with the #HyundaiPreums hashtag.

The initiative will be launched this (Tuesday) evening with Lyon hosting Lille in Ligue 1 and will run until the end of the season.

The launch of the #HyundaiPreums promotion by Hyundai Motor France is supported by the Lagardère Plus division of the Lagardère Sports and Entertainment agency.

Hyundai Motor France director general Lionel French Keogh, who described the initiative as “innovative and very fun”, said that the automotive company had been working with Lyon to “enrich the fans’ experience” since the two parties established their partnership in 2012.

Lyon’s general manager, Thierry Sauvage, predicted that the promotion, “designed in partnership with Lagardère Plus, is likely to be one of Groupama Stadium’s attractions on match nights and will help enrich the quality of the spectator experience”.

A film featuring five of Lyon’s first-team players has been produced to promote the competition.

Hervé Bodinier, executive general manager of Lagardère Plus, added: “This activation, enabled by the connectivity of the stadium, integrates the brand and its product with humour and in a non-intrusive way to ensure maximum engagement of fans.”
