Inter see hospitality revenues double following revamp

Italian Serie A giants Internazionale are reaping the benefits of their new hospitality scheme after recording their most successful year to date.

Alessandro Antonello, the club’s corporate chief executive, said Inter has sold out its SkyBox season packages for the first time ever since it introduced the internally managed IN business and entertainment programme in May 2018, with hospitality revenues doubling.

The San Siro’s luxurious SkyBoxes were developed in the early 2000s, offering dining and leisure facilities for corporate guests at Inter and AC Milan matches. The club has recently renovated the boxes, which feature comfortable armchairs designed by Francesco Ragazzi and offer a huge glass wall overlooking the pitch.

“The path undertaken with the birth of the IN hospitality scheme in May 2018 has already demonstrated its worth: it’s a programme that is able to make the stadium experience special,” said Antonello said at an event for IN clients. “For the first time in history, we’ve sold all the SkyBox season packages, and they deserve a special mention.

“Our clients will have appreciated the restructuring that has taken place in recent weeks. The product being offered today is now much more welcoming and modern. All the Sky Boxes in the Settore Rosso have all been renovated, while this also applies to half of the Sky Boxes in the Settore Arancio. The work will be completed by the end of the year.”

Antonello said that while the club continues to develop plans for a new stadium, the renovations show it is still committed to providing excellent service at the San Siro. Inter and AC Milan announced plans earlier this year for a new 60,000-capacity arena on land adjacent to the San Siro.

Antonello said: “Our message is this: while we are making plans for a new stadium, we are also working to improve our current home, one which will remain so for a number of years yet despite all the discussions which are taking place.”
