Plans submitted for hotel opposite new Everton stadium

Plans have been submitted for a new hotel near Everton’s proposed Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium.

The Liverpool Echo newspaper reports that the hotel would be run by Accor and named Bramley Hotel. The plans are set to be presented to the planning committee of Liverpool Council later this year.

The plans have been drawn up by architecture firms Zerum and Brock Carmichael. The hotel would be located directly opposite the new stadium, which Everton submitted planning application for in December.

The site on which the hotel would be built is currently occupied by an old pub, mill and tyre repair centre, which would be destroyed if the plans are given the green light.

A planning statement reported by the Echo read: “The brand has identified this location as a destination of choice which fits well with their brand and will therefore be a positive contributor to the local economy. The proposal will introduce uses which are wholly compatible with the council’s transformative plans for this underutilised area.”

Everton revealed the final designs of its state-of-the-art, 52,000-seat stadium when submitting a planning application to the council in December. The club hopes to move into the stadium by 2023.
