Austin FC shirt sponsor to aid new stadium’s sustainability drive

Major League Soccer (MLS) expansion franchise Austin FC has signed up Yeti as its main sponsor, with the outdoor goods brand set to back sustainability efforts at its new stadium.

The multi-year deal with the Austin-based company names Yeti as the club’s official jersey partner and newest founding partner. Yeti products will also be integrated throughout Austin FC’s 20,500-seat stadium, which is presently under construction in the Texan city and on-schedule to open in spring 2021.

Yeti will serve as a presenting sponsor of Austin FC’s sustainability efforts. The two parties said the partnership offers a platform for both to launch green initiatives that include the development of comprehensive recycling, compost and water refill policies and practices at the stadium.

“Yeti has established itself as an Austin icon,” said Andy Loughnane, president of Austin FC. “Yeti is an internationally acclaimed brand with passionate supporters who lead active lifestyles and embody the creative energy often found in our sport and widely found in Austin, and Austin FC is elated to begin our journey in MLS alongside an Austin legend.”

Austin FC joined MLS as its 27th club in January 2019 and is the city’s first major league sports team. Austin FC broke ground on its stadium in September. In December, the club partnered with Levy to create food, beverage and hospitality experiences at the venue.
