Nets and Predators arenas latest to receive 15SOF treatment

Social media app 15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF) has boosted its presence in the US arena market by agreeing new partnerships with NBA basketball team the Brooklyn Nets and NHL ice hockey franchise the Nashville Predators.

15SOF delivers users their personal videoboard and TV appearances from live events, and already holds partnerships with the NBA, NHL, the National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB), along with other professional and college teams across the US.

A collaboration between 15SOF and YinzCam, the Nets’ mobile app and software developer, has enabled fans to access the 15SOF platform through the official Brooklyn Nets app available on iOS and Android. Nets fans who appear on the Barclays Center’s centre-hung score board during home games can view and download content of their appearance directly to their smartphone from the 15SOF feature within the app.

“We are thrilled to integrate 15SOF’s technology in our app, enhancing the guest experience for our fans even after they have left Barclays Center,” said Bryan Calka, senior vice-president of global partnerships at BSE Global, which manages and operates the Nets and the arena.

“Fans of all ages enjoy being featured on the centre-hung score board, and this technology provides a great opportunity for fans to save, share and relive memories they make at Nets games.”

Meanwhile, Predators fans will be able to access their appearances on Bridgestone Arena’s scoreboard, FangVision, as well as Fox Sports Tennessee broadcasts. To access their video, after downloading the free 15 Seconds of Fame app, fans take a ‘selfie’ at sign-up and check into the event.

Once they receive their digital clip, the content does not expire. With the 15SOF app, fans can save these previously unattainable clips as a keepsake and also share them with friends across social media.

Nashville Predators president and CEO, Sean Henry, said: “This season, fans have enjoyed seeing themselves, their family members and their friends on FangVision, our brand-new scoreboard. Now, alongside 15 Seconds of Fame, we can offer those fans the opportunity to share their moment and relive the excitement of their time at Bridgestone Arena.”

The introduction of 15SOF is a continuation of the Predators’ ongoing efforts to maximise the fan experience inside Bridgestone Arena. Last summer, the installation of FangVision saw a nearly 300% increase in scoreboard size and a 450% increase in resolution. The completion of the board closed out a two-phase, $15m (£11.7m/€13.5m) improvement project, which also saw the installation of LED ribbon boards and sound system upgrades.

15SOF has also extended its partnership with the Predators’ fellow NHL team Vegas Golden Knights to continue offering its service for games at T-Mobile Arena.
