IQONIQ to drive fan engagement with LaLiga deal

Football’s Spanish LaLiga has signed a global licensing agreement with IQONIQ, a newly-launched fan engagement platform.

The agreement will see LaLiga content and information distributed across the platform, which becomes LaLiga’s ‘global fan engagement licensed partner’. The deal will run for three years.

The partnership will provide fans with the latest LaLiga information through the IQONIQ app, as well as exclusive offers for merchandising, match tickets and unique experiences.

“It’s strategic for LaLiga and its clubs to continue increasing their contact with fans around the world,” said Oscar Mayo, LaLiga’s director of business, marketing and international development. “In order to achieve this, there’s no better way than establishing this partnership with IQONIQ, the all-in-one fan engagement app that is already working with Euroleague Basketball, McLaren Racing and several European football clubs, among others.”

Kazim Atilla, IQONIQ chief executive, added: “We are very excited to have signed this partnership agreement with LaLiga, one of the most innovative and forward-thinking sports leagues in the world, and to become its exclusive and official fan engagement partner.

“IQONIQ is seeking to revolutionise the world of fan experience, so it is vital for us that we work alongside partners that are equally committed to providing their fans with the best possible engagements and experiences. Through this partnership, fans of LaLiga will be given new and unique opportunities to engage with their clubs and stars and be fairly rewarded for their ongoing commitment and loyalty. We look forward to working alongside LaLiga and their global partners to fulfil our common ambitions in this regard.”

IQONIQ has also partnered with top-tier LaLiga club Real Sociedad to become its main sponsor for the 2020-21 season. As part of the agreement, IQONIQ’s logo will appear on the front of the club’s shirts.

Real Sociedad fans will receive access to a loyalty programme, customised footage, in-app games, merchandise and ticket offers. Real Sociedad becomes the first LaLiga club to partner with IQONIQ, joining French Ligue 1 teams Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco and English Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.

IQONIQ’s partners also include the European Handball Federation and Euroleague Basketball.
